B-LIFTx™ Peel

B-LIFTx™ is a five month procedure which brings about renewal by lifting the dead cells off the surface of your skin. This stimulates reproduction in the cells underneath. With B-LIFTx™ you can quickly achieve substantial improvement to superficial lines and your skin should feel softer and smoother, be better moisturized, and more evenly pigmented. Even acne scars and enlarged pores may become less noticeable.

What is B-LIFTx™?

B-LIFTx™ is a major scientific advance. It is a unique formulation containing salicylic acid, (known as beta hydroxyl acids), with patented MICROSPONGE technology. Unlike traditional chemical peels, B-LIFTx™ delivers outstanding results without risking injury to the skin. This is accomplished by lifting the dry, dead cells off the surface of the skin and stimulating the process of skin renewal.

How does B-LIFTx™ work?

B-LIFTx™ works in two ways. First, it dissolves the "glue" that binds together the dead cells on the surface of your skin. By dissolving this "glue," B-LIFTx™ is able to lift these dead cells from the surface to reveal the fresh cells underneath. The result is an immediate improvement in the smoothness and radiance of your skin.

How does B-LIFTx™ differ from chemical peels?

B-LIFTx™ has important advantages over traditional chemical peels. Unlike those other peels, B-LIFTx™ does not damage the integrity of the cells. This means that you can continue to have regularly scheduled B-LIFTx™ treatments for as long as you want. Over time, B-LIFTx™ will no only rejuvenate the appearance of your skin but will allow your skin to build and maintain a healthy barrier function against the environment -- one of the skin's primary roles.

B-LIFTx™ is also self limiting. This means that B-LIFTx™ automatically becomes inactive once it has delivered the necessary stimulus to bring about renewal. Unlike traditional peels, there is no risk of leaving B-LIFTx™ on your skin too long.

Can anyone be treated with B-LIFTx™?

B-LIFTx™ is suitable for patients of all skin types and can be helpful to any patient, no matter how severe their photodamage. A consultation with our dermatologist will help you to set realistic expectations regarding the improvements you can expect based on the current condition of your skin. For people with severe photodamage, B-LIFTx™ can be used as part of a more extensive program prescribed by our dermatologist.

Patients at greater risk include those who are allergic to aspirin, with active herpes simplex (cold sores) or any other viral infection, collagen disease or autoimmune disorder, Acutane users, patients who have had plastic surgery, a recent chemical peel, or recent radiation treatment.

What is the timing for additional B-LIFTx™ treatments?

Additional B-LIFTx™ treatments can be scheduled anywhere from two to six weeks apart, with the average being four weeks. The timing of B-LIFTx™ treatments will depend on your skin type, the amount of discomfort you experience, how much your skin peels, and the expectations that you and our dermatologist have agreed upon.

What improvements can I expect to see with B-LIFTx™?

You should discuss with our dermatologist the types of improvements you would like to achieve with B-LIFTx™ treatments, the areas where you would like to see change, the speed with which you expect to see results, and the amount of peeling that will be acceptable to you. Together, you and our dermatologist will be able to set realistic expectations and design a B-LIFTx™ treatment regimen that is best suited to meeting your needs.

Vitalize Peel®

The Vitalize Peel® is a unique break-through formulation of mild acids that provide a complete, consistent and safe peel with little or no "downtime" and predictable results for all skin types. This non-invasive peel creates a softer, smoother, younger looking complexion:

  • Dramatic improvement in epidermal texture.
  • Age spots, freckles and superficial pigmentation become less obvious.
  • Enlarged pores are less visible.

The Vitalize Peel® incorporates Retinoic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids with Resorcinol and other active cosmeceutical ingredients to create one of the safest, strongest half-hour chemical peels available.

A mild to moderate flaking occurs 2 to 3 days after the Vitalize Peel® is performed and can be controlled with moisturizers. Many patients receive this therapy during their lunch hour. The Vitalize Peel® is performed by a licensed registered nurse under physician supervision and can be repeated at three weeks for maximum benefits. It is recommended as a great way to jump-start healthy skin.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a time proven therapy for the treatment of unwanted leg veins. This procedure involves injecting a sclerosing agent (a compound that acts by irritation of the veins) into the unwanted vein. In our office, we use a solution of hypertonic saline, which is not associated with any systemic side effects. After successful injection of the veins, it often takes 6 weeks before improvement is noted and repeat treatments are often needed.

Hyperhidrosis (severe underarm sweating)

Severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, or severe underarm sweating, is a medical condition that involves overactive sweat glands. Sweat is your body's temperature regulator. In severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis, sweating significantly exceeds the body's normal requirements. This condition often goes undiagnosed, misdiagnosed and untreated due to lack of awareness.

Botox® treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. The median duration of response in botox® patients is approximately 6-7 months.

Botox® is not a cure; your symptoms will return gradually, and you will know when the time is right for another treatment. We will recommend a treatment strategy to ensure that you receive the best possible results with botox® treatment.
